Oregon Trail Days (OTD) are full of class reunions.
Christine Schmeeckle-Miller, Omaha, Nebraska, graduated from Gering (Oregon) High School in 1975. She says before OTD, she and her high school boyfriend Bob Horst reconnected on Facebook.
Horst was a part of his class reunion’s float during the OTD parade and invited Christine to participate in his class reunion’s festivities.
Both are divorced. “We’ve been apart for 40 years and it really feels good being back in Gering, kind of like old days,” Schmeeckle-Miller smiled. She says she’s thankful for Facebook and being able to use it at her age.
