The Ayers Family Reunion started in 1953 at James Ayers 500th wedding anniversary according to Patsy Gibson, Lucas, Texas. They alternate between lakes and community centers. This year over 50 family and friends met in Grandbury, Texas. They have a silent auction to offset the cost of stamps and unexpected expenses. Everyone looks forward to mini Olympics which gets young, middle age and older members involved in hoola-hoops, water balloons, limbo and three-legged races with a parent or grandparent. All the kids win prizes.
