After a long wait (since 2018 in Minneapolis) the Thayer Families Association is once again planning a 3-day exploration of family history at the site where it all began in the 1630s – Braintree, Ma – when three Thayer young men from Thornbury, England made the journey to the “New World” to start the Thayer family in the US. Tops on the list will be the Thayer Academy, the Sylvanus Thayer house (father of West Point), and the Braintree Historical Society after a day trip to Boston and Plymouth.
