This is the 15th Biennial Reunion of the Ford Family of Walterboro (Colleton County), South Carolina. We are the descendants of the seven children of our earliest known enslaved ancestors, Charles and Rebecca Ford. The seven children were LUCY, ROBERT, FORTUNE, DIANNA, ADAM, BINA, and TOM. We refer to the children as “The Big Seven” and capitalize their names to signify their role in the genesis of our family. The 2023 book, I Come from Bowman Lane: A Family History Memoir by Margaret Ann Gethers Scott, Ph.D., chronicles the story of the Ford Family.
