Beatty Family Reunion Summer 2022

Contact: Ann Gavin
Start Date: August 21, 2022
Cook, MN

James Beatty and his four brothers left St. John New Brunswick, entered the U.S. through Boston Harbor, and traveled to Tower, Minnesota to work in the iron ore mines. In 1906 they established the Beatty Township just outside Cook, Minnesota – near the beautiful Lake Vermillion. James married Lillian (Mary) Brainerd and together they had nine children: Leslie, Ethel, Willis, Lillian, James, Margaret, Theodore, Jesse and Russell. As descendants of this pioneer family, we are coming together for the first time since 2006 when the Beatty Township celebrated its 100 year anniversary.
